While American airwaves are crowded with talk of a new world war, narrated by generals and filmed from the noses of bombs, the human face of war is rarely seen. The Fourth World War weaves together the images and voices of the war on the ground - from the front lines of struggles in Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Palestine, Korea, the North from Seattle to Genova, and the War on Terror in New York and Iraq. It takes a look too at the connections between global war and empire building with economic warfare.

The product of over two years of filming, The Fourth World War is a new kind of film for a new world. The intensity and immediacy of its images are beyond anything the mainstream media canshoot, the intimacy and passion of its stories are beyond anything itcan feel. Directed by the award winning New York-based Big NoiseFilms, and narrated by Tony Award winner Suheir Hammadand Singer Michael Franti of Spearhead, it is aradical story of hope and human connection in the face of a war that shatters and divides.

The Fourth World War premiered in four sold out shows at The International Documentary Festival in Amsterdam (IDFA) in lateNovember, and it has already sent shockwaves through the independentfilm world. It has been translated into Spanish, Italian and Koreanwith Greek, French and German versions on the way. The Fourth WorldWar will be launched in North America at the Santa Barbara Film Festival in January.

Norge er i krig. Mens vårt forsvar er i angrep på et lutfattig land
langt langt unna, har noen av offrene fra den samme krigen tatt
opp kampen her hjemme i Norge. Det hele blir komplisert; Norge
har jo, som vi alle vet, gått til krig for å skape fred og stabilitet.
Hvorfor kommer det stadig vekk flere flyktninger
og asylsøkere fra dette landet da?

Etter hvert viser det seg at norske myndigheter i sin iver etter å
skape fred og stabilisering har alliert seg med krigsherrer,
narkobaroner og muslimske fundamentalister! Resultatene
begynner å sive inn over Akersgata idet de får en sultestreik i fanget.

Nå får arbeids og inkluderingsministeren hastverk. Han må skynde
seg å deportere asylsøkerene før de får seg arbeid og blir inkludert.
Det viser seg nemlig at de er ekstremt gode til å organisere og bygge
nettverk. Asylsøkerene har alliert seg med norske aktivister.

Her er det mye som skurrer. Mens sosialdemokrater fører krig
mot fattige, sier obersten at krig er noe tull, og at vi kansje burde
slutte med det. Soria Moria har blitt et mareritt.
